We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThis is a fixed-term part-time post for one year, providing a high-quality secondary and tertiary paediatric orthopaedic service to the children and adolescents of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Thames Valley, and neighbouring counties.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality secondary and tertiary paediatric orthopaedic service to the children and adolescents of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Thames Valley, and neighbouring counties.
- Support and develop clinical collaboration with other paediatric services in Oxford and Buckinghamshire, especially where this may impact on paediatric orthopaedic provision.
- Develop further paediatric training in orthopaedics with support of local and grid trainees and provide orthopaedic teaching for other postgraduate trainees.
- Comply with the recommendations of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, National GIRFT ('Getting it Right First Time') review of Paediatric Orthopaedics, and the Royal College of Surgeons over the provision of acute and specialty services for children.
The post holder's duties will be at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the Children's Hospital Oxford, but it is a condition of the appointment that the post holder will be willing to work in any of OUH Trust's locations.
The NOTSSCaN Division is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of services within their areas in line with Trust strategies, policies, and procedures.
The NOTSSCaN Division aims to be a leader across the United Kingdom as a provider of a range of standard and specialised services.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatric orthopaedic surgery, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
They will also have a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a willingness to contribute to the development of the service.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly, including occasional weekend and weekday on-call duties.
They will also be required to participate in CPD and SPA activities.
