Medication Safety and Governance Specialist

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to play a pivotal role in Medicines Safety and Clinical Governance across Whittington Health NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist with drive and enthusiasm to build excellence in patient safety and clinical governance initiatives related to medicines management.
Main Responsibilities:
- To lead on patient safety and clinical governance initiatives related to medicines management, including Controlled Drugs.
- Forge strong professional relationships across the trust and work with a wide range of multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the trust medication safety programme.
- Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, nursing staff, and doctors on medicines management and clinical governance.
- Conduct medicines management audits and produce action plans and reports based on data.
Requirements:
- MPharm (or equivalent) and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Further postgraduate qualification in Pharmacy Practice or Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff.
- Experience of supervising and training junior pharmacists and wider pharmacy team members.
- Good problem-solving and numeracy skills, and the ability to evaluate and plan service developments.
