Job Description

We are seeking applications for a permanent full-time employed consultant position in Eating Disorders (ED) at Priory Hospital Glasgow. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and high-quality clinical care for patients referred to and using the eating disorders services.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Be responsible for up to 12 ED inpatients over two wards at Priory Hospital Glasgow.
  2. Provide consultant advice to outpatients receiving outpatient therapy from Priory Therapy Services.
  3. Work closely with outpatient Therapy Services for any outpatient-related inquiries.
  4. Provide non-residential consultant 1 in 5 on-call cover for out-of-hours for Priory Hospital Glasgow inpatients.
  5. Participate in hospital clinical governance activities and take up Quality Improvement activities as delegated by the Hospital Senior Management Team.

Experience and Skills

The post holder must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of entering it in general psychiatry, with experience and competencies in eating disorders. Specialist ED work experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings is desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £170,000 per annum, plus a £10,000 on-call supplement. Consultants will be registered with all private health insurers in their own right as private practitioners. While employed by Priory, they will not be entitled to receive any private patient fees personally for patients seen during their contracted hours.
