About Our School

Harris Academy Clapham is a school that prioritizes the well-being and safety of our students. As our Deputy Safeguarding Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our safeguarding procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with staff to ensure effective referrals to local authority children's social care;
  • Providing support and guidance to staff on safeguarding and child protection procedures;
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as the Channel programme and the Disclosure and Barring Service;
  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of incidents and concerns in CPOMS;
  • Contributing to whole-school safeguarding training;
  • Line managing support staff;
  • Preparing and presenting information to Academy Governors, ALG and Ofsted;
  • Managing CPOMS in accordance with agreed protocols;

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • Basic knowledge of first aid, eg. emergency first aid;
  • Good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures;
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000-£65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits package.
