Job Title: Allocator and Stock Optimisation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Allocator and Stock Optimisation Specialist to join our team at Selfridges.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical skills to work closely with the buying teams to ensure efficient stock management and maximise sales.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of merchandising principles and be proficient in using data to inform decision-making.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.

About the Role:
  • Maximise stock availability and turnover through effective auto-replenishment and allocation strategies.
  • Analyse sales data to identify slow-selling products and recommend actions to improve stockturn.
  • Work collaboratively with the distribution centre (DC) to resolve queries and ensure timely transfer of stock between stores and DC.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of departmental performance, including best and worst sellers, competitor activity, and concession data.
  • Support the merchandising team in providing weekly, seasonal, and ad-hoc analysis to inform buyer decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including suppliers and colleagues, to chase delivery times and resolve issues.

  • You possess strong retail knowledge and a solid understanding of merchandising principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Proficient in using Excel and other Microsoft Office software to manage data and create reports.
  • Able to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Detailed-oriented and proactive, with a focus on delivering results-driven solutions.
