Part of the council's Finance and Commercial Services, we work closely with staff organised into three teams responsible for income management, debt collection, and accounts payable functions.
As Financial Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering our objectives and ensuring efficient and effective financial operations that support the council's strategic objectives and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute plans to improve financial operations, achieve departmental goals, and drive individual initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Monitor and Report Performance: Track and report on team performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Provide Leadership and Support: Foster a positive and productive work environment by providing leadership and support to assistant managers and staff, promoting excellence, and driving efficiencies.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and management skills, knowledge and experience of relevant financial applications, and excellent IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will be part of a programme aimed at achieving efficiencies, elevating performance, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
