About the Role:

MTrec Technical is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the New Product Introduction (NPI) of bespoke projects, product customization, range extensions, and standard product improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take products from initial enquiry to production, including costing, concept and detail design, prototyping and production drawings and work instructions.
  • Exceed customer expectations through the creation of well-designed, thoughtful, and elegant products.
  • Provide a first-class, timely service to internal customers and partners, including Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
  • Actively seek opportunities to develop products and processes to improve market appeal, profitability, and quality.
  • Represent the Company by attending meetings, visiting clients' premises, and conducting site surveys.
  • Follow health and safety instructions and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.

Requirements:

  • A Product Design or Industrial Design degree course or a HNC/HND with experience in manufacturing.
  • 3D design experience with Solidworks.
  • Experience of design and development in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Highly numerate with strong IT skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Clean, full UK driving license.
  • Experience of creating manufacturing drawings and clear and concise work instructions.
  • Experience of creating 3D visuals.
  • Experience of CNC Programming.
