The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Technician to join our team at Leonardo in Basildon. As a key member of our Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, you will be part of a dynamic team that delivers defence electronics, mission critical systems, and surveillance solutions across various domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough testing of high-value electro-mechanical assemblies using a range of traditional test tooling, including digital meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement test procedures, ensuring compliance with quality instructions and control plans.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with electronic assemblies, utilizing fundamental levels of fault-finding and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, logs, and documentation, adhering to Health and Safety requirements and COSHH regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, contributing to the development of innovative processes and solutions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in testing electro-mechanical assemblies, with a strong understanding of traditional test tooling and instrumentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems, with experience in testing optics, communications, or RF assemblies a plus.
