Job Title: Community and Events Fundraising Officer

Merrifield Consultants is partnering with Cherry Trees, a charity providing home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities and a meaningful break for their families across Surrey and the surrounding areas.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Community and Events Fundraising Officer to join our small but growing team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of planning and delivering successful community and events fundraising programs, with a strong focus on building reach and engagement across a range of events and fundraising activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive community and events fundraising strategy to engage with existing and potential supporters.
  • Plan and deliver a range of events, including golf days, live music events, and a Christmas market, to raise significant funds for the charity.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with corporates, community groups, and organizations to increase fundraising opportunities.
  • Manage and coordinate the charity's Challenge Events program, including partnerships with Choose a Challenge and Run for Charity.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of planning and delivering successful community and events fundraising programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an understanding of the impact of good storytelling.
  • Event marketing experience, including understanding of tools, systems, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience of using a CRM and the importance of using this data to provide insights and guidance.
  • Understanding of fundraising regulations, health and safety requirements, and general laws.
