About the Role:The Director of Development Services will oversee the organization's fundraising operations, directing all internal support services, including processes, procedures, quality control, technical advancements, data management, and reporting. This role will strengthen organizational capacity to grow philanthropic revenue and deepen donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure effective fundraising operations.
- Oversee Development's technical requirements and provide day-to-day supervision for the Donor Database Manager and Development Coordinator.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow philanthropic revenue and deepen donor relationships.
- Manage and monitor complex budgets, department management, and administration.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in philanthropy and apply knowledge to inform fundraising strategies.
- Minimum seven years of development experience, including a track record of attending to fundraising operations.
- Broad knowledge of all facets of a sophisticated development program.
- In-depth knowledge of development tracking and digital communications systems, specifically Raiser's Edge.
- Demonstrated track record of success managing and monitoring complex budgets, department management, and administration.
- A talent for managing up, including evidence of successful relationship management partnerships.
- Ability to understand and articulate Natural Lands' case for support and organizational priorities.
- Occasional hiking and walking on uneven terrain may be required.
- Ability to travel throughout the region for events.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends, particularly during busy seasons.
