Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of dental nurses across all localities, ensuring a high standard of clinical care is maintained at all times. This will involve providing senior dental nurse support throughout the dental care and treatment of adults and children with special needs.

The post holder will also be responsible for the allocation of work and clinics to ensure the smooth facilitation of all dental clinics across South Tyneside, Gateshead, and Sunderland. This will involve providing first-line management to dental nurses and overseeing the administration team.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Up-to-date knowledge in all areas of dental nursing
  • Flexible approach to day-to-day working
  • Reliable evidence of CPD and strong commitment to development of dental nursing
  • National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ level 3 in dental nursing
  • National Dental Nursing post-qualification NVQ level 4
  • Registration with the General Dental Council
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Kodak R4 Computer system
  • Knowledge of special needs conditions and experience of assisting with challenging behaviors, children, medically compromised, and phobic adults
Physical Skills
  • Able to meet the travel requirements to fulfill the role
Experience
  • General dental nursing experience
