Job Title: SEMH Tutor Position

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Tutor to support a young pupil with high Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEMH, demonstrated through practical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to the pupil's SEMH needs.
  • Engage in sensory-based activities.
  • Teach social skills such as turn-taking and tolerating others in personal space.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support emotional and academic development.
  • Use varied teaching methods to match the pupil's learning style.
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies to promote continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and professionals to create a holistic support system.
  • Maintain detailed progress records and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with high SEMH needs.
  • Deep understanding of SEMH challenges and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children.
  • Ability to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Experience in educational or therapeutic settings.
  • Familiarity with educational tools designed for SEMH children.
