Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary school in Dorking. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with Learning Difficulties, including Autism, and Speech, Language & Communication needs.

The Special Needs Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to provide a learning experience tailored to the individual needs of students. Key responsibilities include behaviour and pastoral support, building robust relationships with students, and ensuring safeguarding of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD

What We Offer:

Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students. This is a PAYE, term time only position with a competitive daily rate of £85. You MUST have the right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship is available.

Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
