About the Role

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Paediatric Emergency Department. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for autonomously assessing and treating paediatric patients with illnesses and injuries.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of paediatric patients, including taking a thorough history and performing physical examinations.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and order further investigations as required.
  • Prescribe medication and work towards a prescribing qualification.
  • Discharge patients home with a complete plan of care and ensure safety net information is given and understood.
  • Liaise with the Emergency Department and/or specialty teams within Croydon Health Care as required.

Person Specification

  • Experience of independently discharging minor illnesses and injuries.
  • Experience of Paediatric ED/Paediatric Critical Care Environment.
  • Evidence of teaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Evidence of undertaking clinical audits.
  • Evidence of up-to-date knowledge of DOH and NICE guidelines.
