We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Antella Travel Recruitment. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, covering critical parts of the sales ledger during peak times, and gaining complete knowledge of the accounts payable cycle.

The ideal candidate will have previous purchase ledger experience, ideally gained within the travel or hospitality industry. You will be comfortable working independently, but also happy to support your team colleagues when needed. Strong Excel, Outlook, and communication skills are essential for this role.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a well-established travel company that specializes in upmarket holidays to worldwide destinations. You will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validating direct cost invoices and ensuring that all travel costs are validated against the booking system.
  • Managing the booking system accrual report and ensuring that all supplier credits are taken/refunded on a timely basis.
  • Processing overhead invoices and ensuring that invoices are entered to the finance system on a timely basis.
  • Raising supplier payments and ensuring that all payments are in accordance with validated invoices.
  • Ensuring new bank accounts/changes to supplier bank accounts are legitimate.
  • Escalating 'problem' accounts to the Finance Manager as appropriate.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience of purchase ledger management is essential.
  • Good attention to detail and experience managing supplier expectations.
  • Comfortable working independently and happy to support team colleagues when needed.
  • Strong Excel, Outlook, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure using your initiative and prioritizing workloads.
