A rare opportunity for a Sales Manager or senior Business Development Manager to work for a company which is part of a worldwide household name in the automotive industry. My client is a byword for quality and expertise in their own sector of the manufacture of components and subsystems for automotive, off-highway, construction, agriculture, materials handling, engine power, generator OEMs.

BASIC SALARY: £60,000 - £70,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Manager - Components, Subsystems to Automotive, Off-Highway, Construction, Agricultural, Materials Handling, Engine Power, Generator Equipment OEMs. A senior, pivotal, visible and strategic role combining your own sales and business development at a senior level with automotive, off-highway, construction, agricultural, materials handling, engine power, and genset OEMs in the UK and Europe and managing a team of high performing Account Managers. An opportunity for a proactive and sales oriented Sales Manager to play a key role in my client's success.

  1. A dual sales management and account management/ sales/ business development role.
  2. The management element will involve:
    1. Training, and developing a high performing team of Account Managers- providing ongoing coaching, feedback and support to ensure team's success.
    2. Responsibility for sales planning process.
    3. Responsibility for reporting sales performance to company and group management.
  3. The sales/account management part of the role will involve:
    1. All aspects of developing the company's business with major automotive and off-highway OEMs, protecting and identifying opportunities for the business to grow.
    2. Anticipate account changes and improvements and acquire a thorough understanding of key market and customer needs and requirements.
    3. Prepare and update Sales Plans and provide regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using account metrics.
    4. Taking full accountability for demonstrating effective activity and delivering sales performance targets.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  1. Experience and success in sales management, ideally including person or team management or team leadership for a manufacturer and supplier of components and/ or subsystems to automotive, off-highway, construction, agricultural, OEMs at a senior level.
  2. You will have an excellent knowledge of the market and be abreast of developments and demonstrate a track record of spotting and developing opportunities and business reacting to such developments.
  3. You will have very strong analytical and numerical skills to be able to analyse and interpret data, sales figures and market trends.
