About the Role

Candidate Source Limited is seeking a highly skilled Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all monthly applications and retentions, as well as contract and sub-contract purchases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and check the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) at the start of each project.
  • Prepare lists of site requirements, including materials, workers, and technicians.
  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects.
  • Support the procurement process, including sourcing and evaluating subcontractors and suppliers, and preparing tender documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project costs, identify variances from the budget, and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to project finances and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with project managers, contracts managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or Qualified by Experience.
  • Some experience in quantity surveying, preferably working for a Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME).
  • Familiarity with systems such as Eque2/Sage for Construction.
  • Basic understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and construction principles.
