A small SME Construction business that is rapidly growing due to many new business wins across Kent, Essex, Cambridge and London is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the team. 

You will be joining a friendly team and will be overseeing all monthly applications and retentions and all contract and sub-contract purchases. Along with a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, you will also have the opportunity to earn a 10% bonus. 

What you’ll do as Junior Quantity Surveyor:

Review and check the BOQ at the starting of the work.
Prepare lists of the site needs (material, workers, technicians)
Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects.
Support the procurement process, including sourcing and evaluating subcontractors and suppliers, and preparing tender documentation.
Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Monitor project costs, identify variances from the budget, and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
Identify and assess potential risks to project finances and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
Work closely with project manager, contracts manager and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, contracts, and correspondence related to the projects.
Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
We’re looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor with:

Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, or Qualified by Experience
Some experience in quantity surveying, preferably working for a SME
Familiarity with systems Eque2/Sage for Construction
Basic understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and construction principles.
