Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand electrical requirements.
  2. Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  3. Utilise estimating software and industry standards to develop detailed cost breakdowns.
  4. Request and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to determine the best options.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project requirements.
  6. Propose value engineering options to optimise project costs.
  7. Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals to clients.
  8. Conduct cost analysis to compare estimated costs with actual project expenses.
  9. Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documents.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of electrical systems and a proven track record of preparing accurate cost estimates. You will also need to be able to work effectively with project managers and engineers to clarify project requirements and propose value engineering options to optimise project costs.
