Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's Decommissioning team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting health and safety operations for a major decommissioning project, while also providing valuable support to other key projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a heavy industrial sector, energy, oil and gas, or a related industry. They will possess construction knowledge and experience overseeing decommissioning work, with offshore experience being desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety strategy that ensures legislative compliance and effectively communicates initiatives in a team-oriented manner.
- Oversee the application of company health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring they align with legislation, guidance, and industry best practices.
- Monitor compliance and maintain the health and safety management system's processes and procedures, supporting daily operations.
- Assess when intervention or escalation is necessary, particularly in regulatory areas of concern.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, gather essential information, and identify risks and impacts to drive corrective actions and improvements.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a heavy industrial sector, energy, oil and gas, or a related industry.
- Construction knowledge and experience overseeing decommissioning work.
- Offshore experience is desirable.
- NEBOSH or equivalent Certificate and relevant membership of IOSH (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Desirable).
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging colleagues at all levels.
