The Diocese of Chichester is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ordained priest to fill the role of Director of Ordination and Parish Priest. This is a unique opportunity to combine two roles, working as Diocesan Director of Ordinands for the Diocese of Chichester and serving as a parish priest.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice to the sponsoring Bishops on individual candidates seeking ordination, working closely with the Deputy Director of Ordinands and Diocesan Director of Vocations, and leading a team of volunteer Assistant DDOs to encourage and accompany those exploring ordained ministry and the religious life.

The Director of Ordination and Parish Priest will also provide pastoral oversight of ordinands in training, work closely with the Diocesan Bishop and Director for Apostolic Life to place those coming to the end of their ordination training, and maintain links and relationships with Theological Education Institutes.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the relationship between Christian formation of the whole people of God and ordination training, knowledge and understanding of the process of discerning vocations in the Church of England, and experience of supporting individuals through a decision-making process.
