Financial Manager Role

Alexandra Corke T/A Alban Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of company finances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with experience in managing financial departments and teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage month-end accounts for UK, France, and Malaysia entities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry and processing of financial records, including departmental safety, retention, and development of staff.
  • Maximise cash balance and availability.

Key Objectives

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for UK, France, and Malaysia.
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable staff to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all statutory submissions are entered on time and right first time.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Day-to-Day Management of Company Finances

  • Manage the month-end process, including journals, prepayments, accruals, commission calculations, cashbook, fixed asset register, and stock and corporation tax.
  • Maintain cashbooks and bank reconciliations, and raise non-AP and salary payments.
  • Perform P&L and balance sheet variance analysis.
  • Reconcile balance sheets.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Manage staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of all supplier and customer transactions for the UK, French, and Malaysian entities.

Statutory Reporting

  • Quarterly VAT calculation and submission for UK.
  • Monthly French VAT administration.
  • Annual audit information and preparation.
  • Annual return filing - PAYE, P11d's, etc.

People Management

Review and monitor skills matrix in the Finance area, review training records, and areas for skills improvement. Operate a system of appraisals and feedback, encourage and motivate staff to achieve high service levels and promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

Up to £46,000 per annum. Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with flexi-time.
