Job Overview

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school setting. You will be responsible for leading lessons in the absence of the class teacher, covering classes across various subjects. The lesson plans will be provided in advance, and your role will involve facilitating learning, managing classroom behaviour, recording accurate registers, and providing a handover to the absent teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher
  • Cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects
  • Facilitate learning, manage classroom behaviour, and record accurate registers
  • Provide a handover to the absent teacher
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a passion for education and supporting young people. You will need to be adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised. Although previous experience in a secondary school is desirable, it is not essential. A comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme will be offered to equip you with the necessary skills.
