Purchase Specialist for Indirect Commodities

Reports to: EU Indirect Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a skilled purchasing professional to join our team at AESC, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a market intelligence program across the region to benchmark key industry indicators and market prices, ensuring accurate price forecasting and risk mitigation.
  • Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing and Local Purchasing to support strategies and develop suppliers both regionally and locally.
  • Provide continuous operational improvement by ensuring contracted suppliers deliver required and committed service levels, acting as a key escalation contact for EU sites operational issues managed by Local teams.
  • Align plant functional needs with Global leaders to support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) activities, including cost reduction, payment conditions improvements, catalog discounted rebates, and contractual finalization.
  • Ensure timely implementation and communication of EU negotiations to required business partners.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers to undertake performance reviews, driving improvement activities.
  • Work cross-functionally to establish Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets and objectives, and monitor/report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to local management, EU, and Global Leaders.

Requirements:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI, SAP.
  • Travel required within the EU and sometimes Asia.
  • Full driving license.
  • Fluent in English (C1 level).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong negotiation skills to influence local functions and ability to work to tight deadlines and time management.
