About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Downfield Housing Support Service as an Acting Senior Support Worker. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) on a six-month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and mentor a team of Support Practitioners, providing regular support and supervision.
  • Produce monthly rotas, considering budgetary requirements and ensuring staff meet contracted hours.
  • Liaise with external health professionals and facilitate meetings with supported individuals and important people in their lives.
  • Effectively match people we support with staff members, considering specific outcomes and goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting individuals within care.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or willingness to work towards qualification.
Desirable
  • Experience working with individuals who have autism and knowledge of positive behaviour approaches.
  • Driving licence and access to vehicle.
