Forensic Psychiatrist Specialist

Due to internal Consultant movement within the Forensic Healthcare Service, The Chichester Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist. This role attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, in addition to a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. The payment is pro rata for part-time employees. The Consultant will participate in the planning and development of local Mental Health Services and contribute to improving the standards of mental health care within Sussex. The post holder will be expected to act as an Approved/Responsible Clinician for patients subject to the Mental Health Act, offer training to professionals, participate in the on-call rota, and lead the improvement of quality of care within the team and system.
The Consultant will provide assessments of prisoners thought to require hospital admission and help develop better provision and capacity for Forensic Healthcare Services. The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a low secure inpatient setting and contribute to the improvement of mental health care in Sussex. The post holder will be expected to participate in business planning for the locality and contribute to the broader strategic and planning work of the Trust.
