Strategic Programme Manager

As a Strategic Programme Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, scheduling, and reporting efforts for complex, multi-project programmes. You will use your expertise in MS Project to create and oversee programme-level schedules that integrate various project timelines, ensuring all components align with high-level strategic objectives.
Working Conditions:
- This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of working from home. However, you will be required to attend the NHS England Waterloo office for in-person meetings and collaboration occasionally.
- 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
- 37.5 hours per week
- Develop and Manage Programme Plans: Create and oversee programme-level schedules using MS Project, integrating the timelines of multiple interrelated projects and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Strategic Stakeholder Management: Provide strategic updates to senior leadership, ensuring programme-wide alignment with organisational objectives. Manage expectations and communication with senior stakeholders and external vendors.
- Risk and Dependency Management: Identify and manage risks and dependencies across multiple project workstreams, ensuring proactive risk mitigation strategies at the programme level.
- Progress Monitoring & Strategic Reporting: Generate regular reports on programme performance, strategic progress, and budget adherence. Provide high-level insights for senior management decision-making.
- Process Review & Improvement: Conduct reviews of overall programme efficiency, identifying improvements to streamline execution across the portfolio of projects.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale, complex programmes, ideally comprising multiple interrelated projects.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders at a strategic level.
- Expertise in developing programme-level plans from scratch using MS Project.
- Strong ability to manage programme-wide risks and dependencies, with experience across multiple industries or sectors.
- Clear communication skills for presenting strategic programme reports and risks to senior leadership.
- Programme management experience within regulated industries such as banking or insurance.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and its integration into programme management.
- Previous experience in process improvement initiatives across multiple projects.
