Culinary Specialist

As a market leading contract catering company, Aspens Services Ltd specialises in school food, combining its understanding of the education sector with knowledge of food trends to encourage creativity and excitement in the kitchen.

We provide excellent care and services to clients and children, ensuring successful growth and a fast pace.

As a Cook in one of our schools, you will prepare and deliver a healthy, nutritious, and fun menu for students and staff, focusing on delivering the highest quality of food and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing menus using recipes provided
• Ensuring Food Hygiene, Allergen, and Health and Safety compliance
• Producing hospitality as per client requests
• Supervising the team
• Building relationships with clients and customers
• Providing a friendly and polite customer service experience

We need someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service, with the following skills and experience:

• Ideally, you will have knowledge of education catering, using fresh ingredients and possessing excellent craft skills
• You have Food Hygiene level 2 & 3 (further training will be available)
• You have excellent knowledge of health and safety practices
• Computer literate with experience of using different systems
• You're self-motivated, able to use your own initiative, have a desire to learn and achieve, and motivate others

We offer fantastic hours, working Monday to Friday during school term time, and no working at Christmas.

This role is:

• 35 hours per week - with no late nights
• Working 38 weeks per year based around term time
• £12.50 per hour
