We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at HMP Norwich, providing exceptional healthcare services to male prisoners. As a Band 5 Prison Nurse, you will work in a dynamic environment, assessing individual care needs and implementing holistic programmes of care.

About the Service

HMP Norwich is a Category B prison housing male prisoners who come directly from court or police custody. Our healthcare service provides 24/7 emergency and primary care, as well as social and palliative care. We also offer a CSMS (substance misuse) service.

Main Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing individual care needs and implementing effective care plans.
  • Managing medicines safely and efficiently according to our policy.
  • Maintaining competencies in all necessary areas through relevant training.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a registered nurse with NMC registration and previous experience working in a hospital or custodial setting. You should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in providing high-quality healthcare to our prison inpatients.

Newly qualified nurses will receive development opportunities, and we welcome applications.

You must be confident using IT systems and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
