About the RoleAs a Principal Project Manager at Tetra Tech, you will play a key role in managing projects of national importance working closely with our clients, stakeholders, and colleagues from other disciplines.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire others to deliver successful outcomes while working collaboratively with our team to develop objectives and agree ways of working.
The ideal candidate will have a background in public sector and central government projects, with experience of managing NEC 3/4 contracts ensuring compliance with the terms of the contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing design teams and the design process against agreed delivery timescales
- Monitoring progress against the schedule, managing resources against the baseline and identifying variances that require action
- Monitoring financial performance throughout the project / programme and preparing reports for stakeholders
- Preparation of the Risk Management plan and process to identify threats and opportunities, assessing the impacts to develop suitable response plans
- Managing the consistent application of quality assurance processes and standards
- Able to establish and maintain governance structures that define clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for governance
- Develops and disseminates a stakeholder management and communications plan to meet the objectives of the project / programme
You will also be responsible for establishing and managing review points, which will inform governance and provide evaluations of progress, as well as managing the change control process in line with the contract conditions.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience of managing projects and programmes for local / central government bodies or other significant public sector clients
- Chartered project Professional (APM), equivalent or working towards
- PMQ Accredited
- NEC 3/4 accredited preferably
- Suitable for security clearance, SC or DV Cleared preferably
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work with senior client representatives
- A collaborative approach including managing large technical multi-disciplinary teams and working with partnering customers
- Good practical application of Microsoft Software, including Project, Excel, and Word
- The ability to prepare and implement a range of project tools including programmes, risk registers, Stakeholder Management Plans, Project Execution Plans, and Quality Assurance Plans
Tetra Tech offers a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including a comprehensive pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, and access to training and development opportunities.
