We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Senior Category Manager for specific systems and equipment suppliers. This is a highly competitive role that offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the opportunity to work from our Templecombe office or other commutable locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of category management principles and be able to deliver transformational change in a blue-chip defence business. They will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, leading major supplier selection exercises, and implementing category strategies to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of the supplier market, including new innovations and emerging technologies relevant to the category.
  • Lead major / business critical supplier selection exercises to support business needs.
  • Manage end-to-end performance of the acquisition process via RFIs and/or RFPs.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring continuous improvement and delivery of high-quality services.

  • Proven experience in category management and procurement leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of supplier markets, including new innovations and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
