Armstrong Knight, a leading Accountancy Practice in Ilford, is seeking an experienced Financial Bookkeeping Specialist to join their busy team. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your bookkeeping expertise to support the internal bookkeeping team and provide exceptional client service.

Estimated Salary:

£32,000 - £37,000 per annum

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bookkeeping, with proficiency in Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for this role. As a Financial Bookkeeping Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting bookkeeping and data processing for clients, maintaining accounting records, and providing bookkeeping support to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Bookkeeping Support: Assist the internal bookkeeping team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality services.
  2. Data Processing: Conduct thorough bookkeeping and data processing for clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  3. Accounting Record Maintenance: Utilize Sage 50 Accounts and Xero to maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  4. Purchase/Sales Ledger Management: Effectively manage purchase and sales ledgers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  5. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns on behalf of clients to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  6. Clients Contact: Establish and maintain regular contact with clients through telephone and/or email to request information and resolve queries.
  7. Client Visits: Visit client premises to liaise directly with clients and provide bookkeeping support as needed.
  8. Management Accounts: Prepare and deliver management accounts to clients on a timely basis.
  9. Deadlines and Queries: Meet deadlines and respond to client queries in a prompt and professional manner.
Person Specification:
  1. Previous Experience: Must have prior bookkeeping experience to succeed in this role.
  2. IT Proficiency: Confident user of Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.
  3. Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure efficient operations.
  4. Supervision: Respond well to supervision by senior members of staff to ensure alignment with company goals.
  5. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
