Estimated Salary:

£38,000 - £45,000 per annum

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in bookkeeping, with proficiency in Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for this role. As a Senior Bookkeeper and Client Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining accounting records, preparing VAT returns, and providing bookkeeping support to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Bookkeeping Support: Assist the internal bookkeeping team to ensure efficient operations and high-quality services.
  2. VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns on behalf of clients to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  3. Accounting Record Maintenance: Utilize Sage 50 Accounts and Xero to maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
  4. Purchase/Sales Ledger Management: Effectively manage purchase and sales ledgers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  5. Clients Contact: Establish and maintain regular contact with clients through telephone and/or email to request information and resolve queries.
  6. Client Visits: Visit client premises to liaise directly with clients and provide bookkeeping support as needed.
  7. Management Accounts: Prepare and deliver management accounts to clients on a timely basis.
  8. Deadlines and Queries: Meet deadlines and respond to client queries in a prompt and professional manner.
Person Specification:
  1. Previous Experience: Must have prior bookkeeping experience to succeed in this role.
  2. IT Proficiency: Confident user of Xero, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.
  3. Problem-Solving: Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure efficient operations.
  4. Supervision: Respond well to supervision by senior members of staff to ensure alignment with company goals.
  5. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
