About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to join our Critical Care Team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading the team in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To work within the multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to Level 2 and Level 3 patients.
  2. To provide comprehensive patient care and ensure the optimum level of physical and psychological well-being is maintained throughout their period of critical illness.
  3. To support significant others, relatives and families during the same period.
  4. To support both senior and junior colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care on a shift by shift basis.
  5. To work in partnership with the whole multi-disciplinary team.
  6. To take charge of the unit in the absence of or alongside Senior Sister/Charge Nurse colleagues, ensuring all the above is maintained.
  7. To actively take part in quality improvement and auditing.

Requirements

  1. Registered Nurse
  2. Basic Life Support
  3. Willingness to undertake ALS if not already held
  4. Recognised Degree level teaching and assessing qualification
  5. Recognised Degree level critical care qualification
