About the Role

We are an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy seeking a Senior Ecologist to deliver high-quality ecological services and contribute to the success of environmental and renewable energy projects across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecological legislation and regulations, excellent attention to detail, and organisational skills, with the ability to travel across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting ecological surveys, including Phase 1/Fossitt habitat surveys, protected species scoping, and bat surveys.
  • Producing comprehensive reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and biodiversity management plans.
  • Liaising with clients and statutory consultees to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Attending client and site meetings.
  • Undertaking the Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) role when required.
Requirements:
  • A degree in ecology or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience in report writing.
  • Strong understanding of ecological legislation and regulations.
  • Experience in Phase 1 habitat surveys.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and flexibility to travel across the UK.
Salary and Benefits:

Our competitive salary package includes £45k - £50k per annum, plus a £2000 placement bonus, as well as opportunities for professional development and training, flexible working arrangements, and work on high-impact projects that focus on sustainability and renewables.
