Job Title: Senior Design Engineer - Rail Electrification

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Keltbray Infrastructure Services Ltd. As a key member of our Rail Design Team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design of railway electrification projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the design of railway electrification projects, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and company quality management systems.
  • Undertake system, basic, allocation, and construction design of railway electrification, applying relevant international, national, and railway group standards.
  • Ensure the application of company design assurance to all allocated projects.
  • Assist in determining design scope and preparing valuation of design elements for tendering purposes.
  • Conduct site surveys and lead the production of design calculations and drawings.
  • Manage and coordinate feasibility studies, outline, and detailed design proposals.
  • Approve the work of design engineers and CAD technicians.
  • Interface with construction and commissioning teams as required.
  • Maintain design procedures to ensure compliance with company quality and environmental procedures.
  • Undertake the role of Contractor's Responsible Engineer and Engineering Manager as required.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience at management level, with a strong track record in tendering and managing standard/complex/major projects.
  • Commercial awareness, with knowledge of budgetary and financial control.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to work across conflicting interest groups.
  • CEng status within a relevant Engineering Council Approved Body.
  • Knowledge of railway group and Network Rail company standards, safety, quality, and environmental issues relevant to the railway environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate discipline-specific technical capabilities and experience in generating technical queries, requests for information, early warning notices, and contract variations.
