About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Digital Infrastructure Server Specialist to support our team's server and storage infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of our Trust's server and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced technical support for Windows servers and assist with Linux Server support.
  • Offer expert technical guidance on VMware, VMware Horizon, and manage SAN and NAS storage systems.
  • Play a key role in the development and ongoing maintenance of disaster recovery plans for server and storage infrastructure.
  • Lead and manage backup processes for all infrastructure systems, including specialized requirements like database backups.
  • Utilize scripting to automate routine tasks, ensuring all scripts are documented in a central register for team accessibility.
  • Implement and maintain automated, continuous monitoring systems for all server and storage infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all server and storage systems, including physical and logical implementations, security controls, applications, and dependencies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, processes, inventories, and documentation in line with industry best practices, such as ITIL.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in managing Windows servers and working knowledge of Linux Server environments.
  • Proficiency in VMware, VMware Horizon, SAN, and NAS storage systems.
  • Strong experience in disaster recovery planning and backup management.
  • Proven ability to automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
