A new Special Educational Needs school in East Leeds is seeking a compassionate and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This all-through school is dedicated to providing quality education and support to students with complex needs in a purpose-built environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and understanding for students with ASD.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Support students with a range of needs from PMLD to those who are high functioning.
  • Provide personal care and be prepared for manual handling of pupils.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding in challenging situations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with students with ASD in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of de-escalation and calming techniques.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
