Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Support to join our team at GSL Education. As a PE Support, you will play a vital role in assisting the PE department, helping to deliver engaging and effective lessons that promote fitness, teamwork, and a love for sports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PE teacher in delivering high-quality physical education lessons, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for students.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of sports equipment and materials, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to improve their skills and confidence in various sports, and encouraging them to participate actively.
  • Supervise students during PE lessons, monitoring their progress and providing feedback to the PE teacher.
  • Help plan and organize school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to the PE teacher and contributing to the development of a comprehensive understanding of student needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a PE Support role or a similar position in a school setting, with a strong understanding of physical education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage students, with a positive and energetic approach to working with young people.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • An updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one.
