About the Role

**Credit Controller Opportunity**

SF Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our client's team in Derby. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely payments and resolving exceptions promptly.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Credit Control**: Oversee the collection of debts, applying the organisation's credit control procedures, and implementing the appropriate collection strategy as needed.
  • **Debt Recovery**: Work closely with the Accounts Receivable and commercial teams to ensure payments are collected on time and exceptions are resolved promptly.
  • **Reporting**: Generate regular reports on debt-related metrics and outstanding balances for management review.
  • **Customer Communication**: Deal with queries and work with Local Authorities to improve the promptness of payments.
  • **Statement Issuance**: Ensure all statements are issued out in a timely manner.
  • **Third-Party Liaison**: Work with third-party solicitors when unsuccessful in obtaining payment.
  • **Cash Posting**: Assist with the cash posting process.
  • **Provisioning**: Ensure adequate provisions are in place for debt.
  • **Compliance**: Ensure that company policies are complied with through all activities, and that all work is undertaken in accordance with procedures and any relevant codes of practice and legislation.
Requirements
  • **Previous Experience**: Previous Credit Control experience is essential.
  • **Qualifications**: CICM qualification would be desirable.
  • **Skills**: A team player with good communication skills, excellent literacy and numeracy skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
