Lead EHS Efforts at Labcorp
Labcorp is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead our EHS efforts at our Eye and Shardlow sites. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise to minimize EHS-related risk and promote a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee EHS operations for the Eye facility and manage up to 3 reports across our Eye and Shardlow facilities.
- Manage and administer environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements, corporate initiatives, and company objectives.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the site organization.
- Partner with site management to ensure applicable EHS-related goals and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Perform applicable supervisory duties for the EHS Department, including recruitment, performance evaluation, and career development.
- Provide advice and assessment on EHS-related risks, including biological agents, chemical safety, waste management, radiation safety, and more.
- Prevent work-related injuries and illnesses, ensuring accidents are reported, reviewed, and assessed to identify remedies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Life or Physical Sciences.
- Extensive experience working in a laboratory or research and development setting or similar chemical or high-hazard industry.
- EHS experience from the above industries.
- Professional certification in Health and Safety and Biosafety.
- Occupational Hygiene and Environmental qualification desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication, people, and presentation skills.
- Professional memberships, CertIOSH, BSP Level 1/RSB Registered Biorisk Specialist ideal.
