Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Computing Scientist to join our High-Performance Computing Group at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and applying emerging quantum algorithms to drive innovation and advancement in our scientific computing capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the development of quantum computing approaches and algorithms
  • Collaborate with academics and application teams to understand requirements and facilitate future adoption of quantum algorithms
  • Supervise and steer collaborative work to develop quantum algorithms on simulators and advanced hardware platforms
  • Engage with application teams to understand requirements and facilitate future adoption of quantum algorithms
Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in Physics or a related subject with a focus on computational science
  • Experience in quantum computing and algorithm development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
