About the Role

We're seeking a talented Nuclear Science Specialist to join our team of experts in delivering the UK's nuclear deterrent. As a key member of our physics function, you'll play a critical role in supporting the full lifecycle of warhead components and technologies.

Your primary focus will be on applying your skills and knowledge to support the development of cutting-edge nuclear technologies. You'll work closely with our team of scientists and engineers to identify and address complex technical challenges.

As a Nuclear Science Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from image analysis and explosive modeling to applied computer science and mathematical assessment. You'll be supported by a line manager and mentor who will help you navigate your time with us and develop the skills to build your career in the defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply your skills and knowledge to support the full lifecycle of warhead components and technologies
  • Work closely with our team of scientists and engineers to identify and address complex technical challenges
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex technical problems
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives

Requirements:

  • Studying for a degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
