About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distribution Supervisor to join our team at Breedon Group plc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for driving performance and efficiency within the distribution function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procedures to enhance the performance of our logistics fleet, ensuring effective and efficient customer interface from enquiry to order receipt and despatch.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including hauliers, customers, and drivers, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Work closely with local management to ensure customer deliveries are met cost-efficiently, promoting harmonious working between departments.
  • Identify opportunities for logistical efficiencies and synergies, reducing haulage costs and maximizing truck utilization.
  • Act as a point of escalation for queries from internal drivers, external hauliers, and owner drivers, maximizing performance and synergies in delivery of concrete to all customers.
  • Liaise with the Transport Manager on compliance issues, excessive costs, vehicle issues, and fleet size.
Requirements
  • Flexible, proactive, and versatile approach to work, with a strong ability to anticipate problems and consider solutions.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on both formal and informal levels.
  • Strong strategic, budgetary, and financial knowledge, with experience of process improvement and efficiencies within logistics distribution and supply chain.
  • A genuine interest in the construction materials industry and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
