Transport Planning Assistant Job Description

Temp Station Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Transport Planning Assistant to join our team in the Normanton area. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and coordinating transportation routes to meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with operations teams, customers, and hauliers to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Manage and upload Proof of Delivery (POD) documents into our Transportation Management System (TMS) and coordinate with customers and colleagues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation and subcontractor activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with drivers, addressing issues, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Contribute to process improvements and performance enhancements to drive business growth.
  • Book and manage out-of-area or hazardous jobs through our pallet network and Hazchem portals.
  • Provide internal and external quotes, and assist with holiday cover for planners.
  • Take on lead planner responsibilities during periods of annual leave.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced transport department.
  • Strong understanding of drivers' working hours and driving time regulations.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road networks.
