About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our SEND team, you will be responsible for managing appeals and complaints related to Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) provisions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of SEND Tribunal Officers, ensuring effective resolution of disagreements and complaints.
  • Provide expert advice on complex case management, working closely with our legal team to develop strategies for managing appeals.
  • Represent the Local Authority at Tribunal hearings and Mediations, ensuring effective representation of our interests.

You will also play a central role in developing and improving the implementation of the Children and Families Act 2014 and relevant legislation.

Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as Law, Education, or Social Work.
  • Proven experience in dispute resolution, preferably in a local authority or education setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
