Steelwork Engineer M/F Job Description

ABMI, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Steelwork Engineer M/F to join our team in Bristol. As a Steelwork Technical Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in coordinating steelwork platform designs, ensuring timely engineering delivery, and maintaining QA procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate steelwork platform designs to ensure design maturity
  • Liaise with building layout and piping teams to coordinate design
  • Smooth the path for timely engineering delivery
  • Manage Open Points to mitigation and resolution
  • Maintain Edvance's QA procedures in delivering SW design
  • Manage engineering changes in line with company procedures
  • Liaise with colleagues in Edvance Paris
  • Resolve identified technical issues
  • Receive, analyze, and verify the consistency of input data
  • Manage schedule impacts resulting from changes

Background and Skills Required:

  • Design of seismically classified steel platforms and structures from concept to detailed design delivery
  • Use of 3D modeling and structural analysis tools
  • Knowledge/Understanding of PWRs would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous
  • Knowledge/Understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and especially knowledge of the design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete
  • Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures
  • Ability to deal with design and layout constraints
