Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our Bristol Structures team, working on major defence and nuclear projects in the South West. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 3 days per week from a client office or construction site in Devon or Somerset.

Our Building Design practice provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure. We are playing a leading role in some of the world's most challenging and exciting engineering projects across sectors including; Education, Commercial, Residential, Defence, Energy and Transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design of structures using conventional engineering materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry) to Eurocodes.
  2. Experience in the design of submarine facilities and nuclear projects, satisfying safety cases.
  3. Seismic design and detailing (steel and concrete to US Codes).
  4. Building design and project management.
  5. Use of structural analysis design software (Robot Structural Analysis and Revit experience is desirable).
  6. Willingness to learn new software and technologies, including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
  7. Flexible attitude to work undertaken and level of responsibility given.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  2. Proven experience in the design of structures.
  3. UK MoD Defence Projects (JSP's, CTM etc).
  4. Nuclear Projects (Satisfying Safety Cases).
  5. Seismic Design and Detailing (Steel and Concrete to US Codes).
  6. Building Design.
  7. Design and/or Project Management.
  8. Experience in the use of structural analysis design software.
