Train Asset Technician

TxM Recruit Ltd is seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician to join their team in Newton Aycliffe. As a Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking test & commissioning, corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of rolling stock assets.
In this role, you will carry out dynamic testing for several test trains before their release into service. You will also complete complex tasks such as troubleshooting, testing, quality control, tuning and repairs. Additionally, you will complete test reports, internal adjustments, and pending job information accurately. Furthermore, you will verify the electrical & mechanical systems installation, and integrity. This role requires flexibility, as you will need to travel and work varying shift patterns to meet project needs.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate must have experience with Rolling Stock Test & Commissioning. They should be able to develop strong working relationships with colleagues, but also be self-motivated and able to take ownership and responsibility for their own work. This is a highly pressured environment that would suit someone who is able to stay positive and calm in difficult and stressful situations.
Essentials
The essential requirements for this role include relevant experience in rolling stock test & commissioning, knowledge & experience in TCMS, OTMR data downloading, Pneumatics and Rolling Stock Brake Systems, Computer Networks, Automatons and Distributed Input / Output systems, and experience using measuring instruments such as multimeters, recorders, etc. The ideal candidate should also be able to write detailed test reports, adapt to changing circumstances, and provide solutions in a climate of continuous improvement. Finally, they should have excellent organisational and time-management skills.
About the Role
This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of £31.80 per hour.
