Project Manager - Consumer Hardware

ORB Innovations is a pioneering startup in the world of contact and combat sports, revolutionizing the industry with innovative products that combine technology and sports.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple consumer hardware products, with a focus on wearable and medical technology.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing complex projects independently from concept to market launch.

You will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans, managing project budgets, and ensuring financial efficiency across all projects.

Additionally, you will identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor project progress to address any issues or deviations from the plan.

Effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and upper management is crucial, and you will be responsible for facilitating this communication.

You will also ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, especially within the medical technology sector.

Establishing and maintaining a unified project management structure across the organization is essential, and you will be responsible for setting up best practices tailored to the unique challenges of hardware product development.

Providing strategic input to senior management and influencing the direction of product development is also a key responsibility.

You will work closely with the team to develop technical writing for product specifications, certifications, and internal regulatory compliance.

Sharing expertise and mentoring junior staff or cross-training other employees in project management principles is also an important aspect of this role.

Reporting directly to senior management or the CEO, you will provide regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.

Adapting to the evolving role as the organization grows and potentially taking on additional responsibilities or helping to onboard and mentor future project management staff is also expected.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field and a PRINCE2 or similar project management certification.

5+ years of experience in project management, with a strong emphasis on consumer hardware product development, particularly in wearables and/or medical technology, is essential.

Proven experience in managing complex projects independently, from concept to market launch, and in-depth knowledge of both software and hardware development processes are also required.

Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to analyze and optimize project performance are essential for this role.
